Hello. Due to the new blog layout you wont see the header that was on here since the beginning of this blog. Well here it is. This is a back ground from Rubbish King of the Jumble.

I have been clearing out some boxes and found a Rubbish King of the Jumble post card. Here it is.

Just for Jez

Here is another Rubbish King of the Jumble picture just for Mr Jez.
This is a sheet to explain what to do with shadows. This series was made in the days of cells and painting on each individual cell. So when the character goes into shadow a different colour paint needs to be used on that part of the character. Its a lost art I am afraid.

Early Bibles

Here are two different covers for the Rubbish King of the Jumble bibles. The one on the right was a year before the one on the left. Rubbish the cat is different and so is the King of the Jumble font. It's interesting to see the development. Mr Andy, Mr Wayne and Mr Phil would have been heavily involved in this.

Morning. Here is another model sheet from the info pack for animators on Rubbish King of the Jumble. It has some extra information about construction and size relation than found on other sheets.

Expressions

Here is one of the expression sheets from Rubbish King of the Jumble. This was to give some reference to the animators of how he could look in different situations. My favourite is the cheek squash top right. Watch the title sequence here.

Rubbish Stamp

Morning. This is the original drawing for the stamp used for everything to do with Rubbish King of the Jumble. Dope sheets, scene folders etc. Look at the lovely pencil line! Lovely.

Dinsdale

Here is one of the model sheets for Dinsdale from Rubbish King of the Jumble. He is a funny fellow.

Lots of Mouths on a Monday

Good Monday to you all. Here are two mouth shape sheets for Rubbish. You can see one of the sheets is 1 of 5 and the other is a Biker Mouth sheet for when Rubbish was being 'hard' so he spoke out of the side of his mouth. A lot of detail here but you need to give the animators as much as possible so the character remains consistent.

Here is a model sheet for the mice and birds from the Rubbish King of the Jumble series.

Rubbish Props

I managed to do some more rummaging around the studio and found this old cell. It's the designs for an episodes props. The cell was folded unfortunately. The creased up paper you can see is tissue paper that sits behind every cell to protect the paint.

Random

Look what happens when you miss time a scan, opps. But I liked the effect. I think I like the texture of the tissue paper more though as the door to the scanner was open. Tissue paper is used to protect the paint on the back of cells.

Another Rubbish King of the Jumble cell for you on this snowy morning. He totally looks like he is going to do a Madonna 'Hung Up' impression! ...But without the fish nets.

This is another cell from Rubbish King of the Jumble. I have flipped the back view of the cell just so its easier to look at and compare with the front. The drawing above the cell was on the animation paper that was with the cell. You always have a bit of paper on the back of the cell to protect the painting. Cell cell cell, just thought I would add the word cell a few more times just to be sure.

Here is a Rubbish King of the Jumble pencil drawing. Note the little note on it pointing out the cloak (you will have to click on the picture to make it bigger). The quality of line is lovely, something you don't get much of now a days.
